therapy for college students & young adults

One of the joys of my practice is the work I do with young adults. This is a transformative developmental period, and young adults are making major life decisions, pursuing passions, and coming into their own power. This is an exciting but also often overwhelming time, and therapy can help with the stress and anxiety that often accompanies this time period.

Common issues that arise with young adults have to do with finding and maintaining healthy relationships, setting boundaries, and feeling a sense of meaning and purpose in day-to-day life. These central topics are even more pronounced for this generation. Covid disrupted their lives and interrupted developmental growth in real ways, and they have paid a high cost for the isolation. Young people are anxious to build and rebuild relationships, learn and relearn social experiences, and fight the anxiety and stress that was endemic to the past several years.
